When We Are Closed

When the surgery is closed always ring the Practice telephone number first.  A recorded message will tell you how you can contact a Doctor.  Please listen to the whole message. The Practice’s Out of Hours cover will be undertaken by Cardiff & Vale University Health Board between 6.30pm and 8.00am only.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Cardiff & Vale University Health Board have recently introduced a new "phone first" triage system called CAV 24/7. Instead of going straight to the Emergency Department you must now call the dedicated phone number 0300 10 20 247, this will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This number will also be used for Out of Hours. 

Your call will be logged and you will then be called back within 20 minutes if the problem is urgent or within the hour. You will then receive a clinical assessment and be directed to the most appropriate service for your needs.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
